Why should I choose BSTZ over other firms?
BSTZ offers the best of both worlds; small firm congeniality coupled with big firm stability. The work is challenging, offering our employees excellent opportunities for career growth and development. While each of our offices present unique opportunities for advancement, the focus upon training and development at all levels in our organization is a firm-wide initiative.

Does BSTZ offer flexible schedules?
Whenever possible, we try to offer our employees the option of creating a work schedule that fits their lifestyle. Many of our employees work flexible schedules. For example, legal assistants and the attorney's they support can agree to a schedule that works well for both of them. In certain departments, such as our service centers (Office Services, Records and Reception) the ability to plan coverage may affect our ability to approve flexible schedules. Nevertheless, we will accommodate flexible schedules whenever possible.

When will I become eligible for benefits?
Health, Dental, Vision and Life Insurance eligibility is the first of the month following an employee's date of hire. There is a three-month wait for eligibility in the 401(k) program and enrollment is quarterly.

What is the review process at BSTZ?
In addition to the informal feedback that is given throughout the year, formal annual reviews are completed during December of each year. Areas reviewed include work quality, productivity, dependability, knowledge and skills, initiative, cooperation and teamwork. In conjunction with the review process, salary reviews are also completed during December of each year. During the salary review consideration is given to the employees years of experience along with other factors such as workload, quality and complexity of the work performed, cooperation with other departments, responsiveness to overflow requests and the willingness to assist with the training of more junior staff members.

Does BSTZ pay bonuses to staff?
It is the Firm's intention to give a year-end bonus to each employee who has demonstrated exceptional performance during the past year.

What are the opportunities for advancement at BSTZ?
BSTZ has a long history of promoting from within. Many of our current managers began their careers here as support staff members. Typically, current openings are posted in each office and employees who are excelling in their current positions are encouraged to apply for positions offering increased responsibilities.
