Mechanical
The current patent numbering system began with US Patent 0000001 being issued on July 13, 1836. Prior to that date, 9,957 patents had been issued, but these patents were not numbered. Among the most memorable and well-known patents that have issued since that time are patents related to mechanical inventions. For example, patents related to Eli Whitney's cotton gin, Singer's sewing machine and Colt's revolving breech pistol are the stuff of American folklore.

The attorneys of BSTZ are well versed in the technologies and the creations of mechanical and other engineers and innovators. Rather than looms and milling equipment, today those engaged in the mechanical arts develop new and improved ways to remove heat from the smallest and most complex integrated circuits ever fabricated, and even design the very machines used to make those devices. At BSTZ we recognize the significant contributions made by these individuals and work to ensure that their ideas and innovations receive the protection to which they are entitled.
