Administrative and Legal Secretarial Support - Portland (Beaverton)

We are seeking a full-time legal assistant for our Beaverton office to provide administrative and legal secretarial support to one of our partners. Our office specializes in patent prosecution for many high-tech clients.

Job requirements include: draft and type correspondence, memoranda and other legal documents; preparation of a variety of patent forms and filing same with USPTO; proofread patent applications, amendments and other correspondence; organize and maintain client files including reviewing/monitoring files to identify upcoming steps to follow for each activity, confirming same with attorney; arranging for appropriate docket entries; create and/or maintains database(s); establish and maintain calendar and deadline reminder systems; review and edit billing sheets.

Qualifications include: knowledge of a variety of computer programs, specifically MS Office Suite, FileMaker Pro and other internet database programs; the ability to work independently and to organize and prioritize numerous tasks and complete them under time constraints; the ability to work quickly and accurately under deadlines; must have good interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate and follow instructions effectively from a diverse group of clients, attorneys and staff and provide information with courtesy and tact.

One to two years patent prosecution experience required.
