Practice focuses primarily on the preparation and prosecution of domestic and foreign patent applications in electrical circuits, semiconductor, computer hardware and software, and networking devices and protocols related technologies.

Before embarking on the practice of law, Karen had worked as an electrical engineer and a computer software engineer for more than 10 years. Prior to becoming a patent attorney, she had worked as a U.S. patent agent for a year and a half. In addition, she was a registered Chinese patent agent, working for CCPIT Patent and Trademark Office (the largest full-service intellectual property law firm in China) for two years.
